Saniclean™ - Screw Coupling Connection

Saniclean™ - Screw Coupling Connection

Saniclean™ gasket is a sanitary gasket made by NICHIAS technology of encapsulating an elastomer in PTFE. This technology delivers a gasket with the softness of rubber with the strength and chemical resistance of PTFE.

The screw coupling connection is predominantly used in production lines with liquid media only. It is preferred in the food & beverage industries such as breweries, wineries, diaries, etc. where it is nearly established as a standard. This is due to the rounded thread edge of the connection being easy to clean. It is certainly the most common fastener in the fluid foodstuffs industry.

The screw coupling connection has another advantage in that it can withstand applied pressure of up to 40 bar in feeding and transport systems. For such systems, the correct gasket also becomes crucial so that leakages do not occur.

For this reason, an applied gasket needs to offer resistance to chemical attack, be flexible as an elastomer, but also withstand high pressures. It must also assure no flavour or product contaminations, as well as be all to be manufactured to FDA standards where required. It is a precarious balance of features that NICHIAS R&D team developed, and one which we are now manufacturing as our Saniclean™ gasket for screw coupling connection.

Saniclean™ gasket is manufactured in such a way that it fits directly around the threads. Thanks to its design, the screw coupling connection has reduced risks of improper fitting - hence preventing leakages even at high pressures.
